Visit to Juanita Baker:
* This can be a 7th period Give Next class pre-valentine type of thing (February 6th)
* Bring valentines and flowers
* Clara will edit the poem and put some key club photos
Service Projects
FCHS Key Club Human Trafficking Awareness Logo: This week’s project
* Have students design the logo – let people do what they want (groups or alone)
* Could also make the design a letter head and hand write a letter about what we have done and things like that and send it off to the people who are fighting it (Larimer county anti-human trafficking, beth bruno) and ask about things for next year
* It will be there more for next year to do more with anti-human trafficking month
* This will be a good service project for the DCON meeting
* Talk a little bit about what we can do about anti-human trafficking (video, have Mrs. Mathe talk about it, we could each share, grab another person from interact)
* Anti-Human Trafficking symposium at 6520 east crossroads boulevard (crossroads church) on January 23rd – interested members can show up, give hours
Upcoming Opportunities
* Schedule 30 hours worth of service hours for members to have BEFORE DCON
* Need sign up sheet for all events
* Registration Tours: do we have leaders to lead some tours on Feb 14th or 15th 8:30-11:45
o You will get school excused
o Ask the entire club – email Emily dunn if interested
* STL Carnival: Key club host a game
o Give hours for anyone who volunteers at the booth (booth is a room)
o Thirst project water jugs – who can go the fastest or a relay
* February and March Hospice: Need volunteers to read/sit with/craft with hospice patients in their homes
o 16 and older – 2 hour orientation – set up schedule with the hospice person
o Put it out to club to see who is interested
o Sign up for people who are interested
o Orientation in late February early march
* Musical Zoo
o Captain to Coordinate: Ella Johnson
o March 3rd from 4-5:30
o Ella needs to communicate with Dave and make sure she knows who all is signing up for musical zoo and communicate with them
* Colorado Feeding Kids
o March 9th, online sign up
o Start signing up as soon as possible, no real deadline to sign up but still asap
o Talk about on February 13th
* Spring Exhibition of Learning
o Give a presentation about what we do (5 minutes) – use awards banquet presentation
o We are interested in this! – tell Jen

* CSI BBQ: April 11th – after school in the courtyard
* Banquet: May 9th 6-8
* MS Walk in Windsor – join the team
* Taste of Foco: June 7-9 – NEED PEOPLE

Budget
* Have more money for DCON and ICON
* We can do T-shirts!
* Keep in the positive
* Money for thirst comes out of budget too
* Can pledge more $ at DCON to thirst and then immediately give it to them ($600 confirmed)
* Need a water warriors list

* $450-600 budget for the shirts
* Creating a new design
* 100 T-shirt
* Black shirts with white text
* Poly-Cotton blend for material
* Starfish on one sleeve
* Give out cards with the T-shirts or bookmarks (service learning class)
Global Leaders:
* Trees water people presented at CCC and it was amazing
* They build schools
* We can show the 5 minute video to generate interest and then have a night for parents and students to show what it is an give information about it
* Plant the seed this year to do for next year
* Key Club Trip?
* Make sure what we would be doing on this trip is real service and will be making a real impact (not just sitting on a beach 😊 )

* Gillian has 2 minutes to talk about LTG elections!!!! Next 2 meetings
